Ear Surgery Before & After Case 1228

This 17 year old was referred to Dr. Parker by a friend requesting improvement in the appearance of her ears and nose. Specifically, she asked to have her ears brought back closer to her head and not be so prominent. Additionally, she asked Dr Parker to reduce the bony cartilaginous hump on her nose to improve her profile—she said she liked everything else about her nose. At surgery, Dr. Parker performed an otoplasty whereby he made inconspicuous incisions in the crease behind the patient’s ears which allowed him to properly reshape the cartilage, bring them closer to her head so they became less prominent. Dr. Parker addressed the patient’s nose by performing a closed rhinoplasty. Through hidden incisions on the inside of the nose, he reduced the bony-cartilaginous hump, then fractured the nasal bones to appropriately narrow them. The patient was pleased with the speed of her recovery. She absolutely loves the improved, but natural looking appearance of her ears and nose. In addition, she comments on how much more self confident she feels.
