Cellfina® Cellulite Treatment

Very few people can boast perfectly firm and smooth skin—and cellulite is something that can occur regardless of your age, weight, and lifestyle habits. Cellulite is an incredibly common condition that results from fat pressing against the skin’s connective tissues, leading to the dimpled appearance so many dread. The nature of this condition makes it incredibly difficult to treat or tone naturally, and effective treatment options have been limited. Until now.

Cellfina is the first minimally invasive cellulite procedure to gain FDA-approval to improve the appearance of cellulite for up to 3 years—and Parker Center in Paramus is thrilled to be the first practice to offer Cellfina in New Jersey for effective, long-lasting cellulite reduction.

What Causes Cellulite?

To understand how Cellfina helps smooth away cellulite, it’s important to answer the question, “What causes cellulite?” Your skin is a complex network of muscle, tissue, and fat that is held together by connective bands known as fibro septae, which are woven through the fat to anchor your skin to your muscles.

When fat deposits push through the connective tissue, it can weaken and tighten these bands, leading to the puckered, dimpled appearance of cellulite—often on the thighs, abdomen, and flanks. Because it is an underlying structural condition, topical creams are largely ineffective—and attempting to tone the area through exercise is notoriously difficult.

How Does Cellfina Work on Cellulite?

Cellfina works by treating cellulite at its source: the tightened or weakened fibro septae. By releasing these bands, the skin is allowed to smooth out and dimpling is dramatically reduced. Previous options for releasing these bands involved surgery or using a laser under the skin, but Cellfina automates this process to achieve impressive results without the invasiveness of surgery.

Not much larger than your hand, the Cellfina device is entirely mechanical and does not require lasers, heat, or radiofrequency. When placed on individual dimples of your skin, the Cellfina device suctions up the area of skin, and a very small, very sharp blade is then mechanically inserted just under your skin to release the fibro septae. Once released, the treated area will bounce back and begin to smooth out over the course of around 3 days.

Because the blade is only inserted about 6 millimeters under your skin, Cellfina offers the following additional benefits:

  • Very little discomfort during and after the procedure.
  • No impact to surrounding tissues by the procedure.
  • Patients can typically resume normal activities right away.

How Much Does a Cellfina Treatment Cost in New Jersey?

At Parker Center in Paramus, the cost of a Cellfina treatment will depend on the size of the area treated and desired goal. We will provide you with a personalized quote as part of your cosmetic consultation.

What Is a Cellfina Treatment Like?

The first step in your Cellfina treatment is a private consultation with Dr. Parker. During your consultation, Dr. Parker will help you understand your options, answer any questions you may have, and help determine if Cellfina is the best choice for you. He may recommend nonsurgical fat reduction with CoolSculpting® or liposuction surgery.

Prior to your treatment, Dr. Parker will evaluate your areas of concern and mark which dimples should be treated for maximum benefit. A topical numbing agent will be applied to ensure you are comfortable throughout treatment. Following this, the area to be treated will be injected with a local anesthetic solution so that you will not feel any pain during the procedure itself. The Cellfina device will then be applied and fibrous bands responsible for the cellulite dimples released. Your treatment should only take around an hour.
