What Is a Hybrid Fractional Laser?
What makes Halo unique is its ability to simultaneously deliver both fractional (ablative) and non-fractional (non-ablative) wavelengths in the same area, maximizing results and minimizing downtime. This allows a patient to receive a fully customized treatment that can address both mild and severe skin concerns in the epidermis and dermis in a single pass.
During treatment, Halo determines the exact amount of energy needed to complete treatment safely and effectively, based on the treatment level required for your unique concerns. This intelligent energy delivery and Dynamic Thermal Optimization provides precise and even treatment.

Ablative vs. Non-Ablative
Because Halo offers dual lasers, patients can get the benefit of both ablative and non-ablative results without the disadvantage of increased downtime.
Traditional ablative lasers have the ability to offer dramatic results by removing the outer layers of damaged skin during treatment. This triggers the skin to heal and restructure with increased collagen production. Traditionally used for treating signs of aging, sun damage, and scarring, ablative lasers can produce long-lasting results. However, ablative lasers often come with a longer recovery period, with potential side effects that include redness, swelling, infection, or pigmentation changes.
Non-ablative lasers are considerably less invasive, though results may not be as fast or dramatic as ablative treatments. By heating tissue without destroying it, non-ablative lasers stimulate collagen production to address minor skin imperfections, scarring, and fine lines. Multiple treatments are often required, but downtime is minimal and side effects are greatly reduced.
What Can Halo Treat?
The Halo Hybrid Fractional Laser can treat a variety of skin concerns ranging from mild to severe, providing deep dermal rejuvenation and epidermal renewal.
- Visible signs of aging. The ablative wavelengths of the laser are well-suited to providing more dramatic treatment for wrinkles and furrows of the face. For age spots or uneven skin tone, non-ablative wavelengths simultaneously offer visible improvement with little-to-no downtime
- Sun damage. Halo diminishes the appearance of sun spots, uneven skin tone, and hyperpigmentation caused by sun damage, in addition to reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
- Scarring. Acne, chickenpox, and miscellaneous scars can leave you feeling self-conscious. Halo can visibly reduce the appearance of scars and leave your skin smooth and soft.

At our New Jersey medical spa, the cost of a Halo laser treatment will depend on a variety of factors. You will be provided with a specific price when you come in for your cosmetic consultation.
What To Expect From a Halo Treatment
Because Halo incorporates both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths over a single pass of the laser, downtime is drastically reduced from that of fractional lasers.
On your day of treatment, a numbing agent will be applied to your skin to reduce any discomfort you may experience. During the procedure, Halo’s integrated cooling system cools your skin during treatment, making the procedure more comfortable. The applicator constantly monitors the temperature of the skin, ensuring safe and accurate treatment.
After your procedure, you will need to take extra care of your skin. You will experience peeling for the first few days after treatment as your damaged skin comes off and new, radiant skin is revealed.
