This 68 year old was referred to Dr Parker by another patient. She requested improvement in the appearance of her arms after an 68 pound weight loss achieved by following the Weight Watcher's diet. The patient is 5'5" tall, weighs 164 pounds and says her weight is now stable. After examining her, Dr Parker discussed treatment options. They agreed upon a traditional brachioplasty, the patient saying optimal contour was most important to her and she was not concerned about scarring. The patient had limitations in lifting her left arm due to a significant rotator cuff issue but wished to proceed with brachioplasty before having her rotator cuff addressed. Subsequently, Dr Parker performed a traditional brachioplasty. The patient said her recovery was quick and easy. When seen at her one year postop visit, the patient was very pleased with the results of her brachioplasty. In the interim she had undergone a left shoulder replacement at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC. She is very happy with the improved contour of her arms and is not at all bothered by the appearance of her scars.
