Mohs Reconstruction for Lanie Yields Exceptional Results

Parker Center for Plastic Surgery

Breast AugmentationLanie is a patient of Dr. Parker’s who has been treated for skin cancer in 2004, 2008 and most recently in October 2012.  The last diagnosis required a Mohs procedure that excised two spots approximately “dime-sized” on the right side of her face.

“I originally told the Mohs surgeon to just sew it up, but he said no this is on your face and you need a plastic surgeon.  I went to Dr. Parker because I knew him and trusted him implicitly.  When I had skin cancer in 2008, he did the reconstruction. The resulting scar is virtually invisible. It’s amazing!  I’ve shown everyone,” said Lanie.

Lanie explained that both she and her brother have had bouts with skin cancer from spending too much time in the sun as children.  Because of her history, Lanie is extra vigilant about sun protection.

Dr. Paul M. Parker of the Parker Center is dedicated to patient education, specifically women’s health issues. Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the U.S. and has increased over 2.0% every year since 2000.

“Everyone at the Parker Center is wonderful.  They are warm, caring and professional.  I have recommended Dr. Parker to many friends.  The nurses make you feel comfortable and at ease.  They explain things at length and even call you the following day.  I never felt neglected or wondered what I was supposed to do.  It made me feel very secure,” Lanie explained.

Lanie has young children and a part-time job on the weekends.  Recovery from her surgery required her to take only one weekend off.  The Mohs surgeon removed the skin cancer and Lanie went directly to Dr. Parker’s office for an examination.  Dr. Parker took photos of the area and made a plan for the reconstruction surgery the following day.

“I had a great experience, everyone there is excellent.  The whole experience was positive from beginning to end. Dr. Parker is a remarkable man and a wonderful surgeon,” said Lanie.
