Eyelid Surgery Before & After Case 1326

This 64 year old asked Dr. Parker to improve upon his excess upper eyelid skin, lower eyelid puffiness and long standing fullness in his neck. Dr. Parker discussed options with the patient at his consultation and they agreed upon the following plan: an upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty as well as a neck lift. At surgery, Dr. Parker performed the upper eyelid blepharoplasty to excise the excess upper eyelid skin. In performing the lower eyelid blepharoplasty, he used transconjunctival incisions to remove the herniated fat from the patient’s lower eyelids, excised the excess skin and performed a lateral canthopexy. Regarding the neck, Dr. Parker performed a submental incision to remove the excess subplatysmal fat, tightened the medial platysma muscles with sutures ( called a “platysmaplasty”). He then used post-auricular incisions to lift and suspend the lateral plastyma muscles and, using the same incisions, excised the patient’s excess neck skin. The patient is very pleased with the natural, more rejuvenated appearance of his eyelids and neck.
