This 11 year old, just starting middle school, presented to Dr. Parker with increasing concerns and sensitivity about her prominent ears. Dr. Parker discussed with the patient and her parents the relevant anatomy and what could be done to achieve the desired appearance of her ears. Subsequently at surgery, using hidden incisions in the crease behind the ears, Dr. Parker inserted sutures to create a more defined anti-helical fold with a natural curvature of the ear as well as sutures in the concha bringing the ear appropriately closer to the scalp. The patient recovered without any pain and quickly after the surgery. She and her parents are delighted with the markedly improved contour and appearance of her ears.
