Neck Contouring Before & After Case 1616

This 30 year old requested improvement in the contour of her neck which has always been fuller than desired. She said her mother and her sister have the same history. Recent weight loss did not improve the contour of her neck. During the patient's consultation, Dr. Parker reviewed options with her. He explained that patients like her with a long standing fullness in their neck, along with a family history of that problem, commonly have deep seated fat beneath the medial  platysma muscles. Dr. Parker recommended a Minimal-Incision Neck Contouring procedure, which he said could be performed under local anesthesia. At surgery, several weeks later, Dr. Parker used a short, well-concealed submental incision in the natural chin crease to excise the excess fat from between and beneath her platysma muscles. He then sutured them back together (called a "medial platysmaplasty").  Finally, he performed liposuction of the lateral neck using tiny access incisions hidden behind each ear. The patient said she was comfortable throughout the procedure and felt no pain. She was pleased with the ease of her recovery and is very happy with the significantly improved contour of her neck without visible scarring.
