This 49 year old was referred to Dr. Parker by several other patients. She had lost over 100 pounds with a combination of lap band surgery 6 years ago and subsequent exercise. The patient works out regularly and takes very good care of herself now. The patient is 5’4” tall and weighs 155 pounds. She asked Dr. Parker to lift her drooping breasts and make them fuller. She also did not like the hanging skin and fat on her abdomen. Dr. Parker discussed various options with the patient. They agreed upon performing a vertical augmentation mastopexy, otherwise known as a “lollipop lift”, due to the low position of her nipples. They also discussed a lipoabdominoplasty to remove the excess skin and fat from her abdomen. These procedures were subsequently performed by Dr. Parker. He inserted silicone implants in the breasts to supply lost volume, 275 cc on the right side and 300 cc on the left. This evened out her pre- existing asymmetry. He then performed the lollipop lift to improve the shape of the breasts, to allow them to sit higher on the chest wall and to make them perkier. At the same surgery, Dr. Parker also performed a lipoabdominoplasty. The patient recovered well after surgery, getting up and around from the night of surgery onward. She is very happy with her fuller, uplifted breasts and much more sculpted abdomen. She knows she looks good, and it feels great. It has motivated her to work even harder in the gym.
