Northern New Jersey Lip Enhancement

We receive requests from patients for fuller, more luscious lips frequently. These patients often have a normal appearance to their lips, but simply desire fuller lips with more definition. Other patients, as part of the aging process, lose lip volume and develop wrinkles in and around their lips.

Temporary Options

These are minimally invasive, mainly non-surgical treatments can last anywhere from 3 months to 2 years.

Dermal Filler Injections

A popular option for lip enhancement is “plumping” the lips with dermal fillers. Restylane and Juvéderm are two commercially available forms of hyaluronic acid, a natural occurring substance that sits beneath the lips to add shape & volume. Injections only take about 10 to 15 minutes to perform, with local anesthetic, and are performed by our highly experienced Nurse Injector, Angela Parisi, RN. Results last 3 to 6 months before requiring repeat injections.

Fat Injections

Fat injections are another alternative to achieving fuller lips. This requires “harvesting,” or removal of fat from another area of the body, such as the abdomen, “purification” of the fat, and then injection into the lips. Dr. Parker can perform the injections using local anesthesia in about 45 minutes. In the lips, 30-50% of the injected fat will often last one year or more.

AlloDerm is a solid, biodegradable implant derived from tissue banked cadaver skin. Under local anesthesia with or without intravenous sedation, AlloDerm is surgically inserted into both upper and lower lips through two tiny incisions at the corner of the mouth. It provides a fuller lip augmentation lasting up to two years in some cases.

“From the very beginning Dr. Parker and his staff have been nothing but top notch. They truly are the best of the best and I wouldn’t go anywhere else.”—Lip Enhancement Patient

Lip Enhancement procedures are commonly combined with other facial rejuvenation procedures such as face lift surgery or chin augmentation.
