Gynecomastia Surgery Before & After Case 1593

This 28 year old, referred to Dr. Parker by another patient, requested reduction in the fullness of his breasts which initially enlarged at puberty. He subsequently he took one cycle of anabolic steroids 5 years ago and is being weaned from testosterone and growth hormone by his medical doctor now. The patient works out regularly and says his weight is stable. During his consultation with Dr. Parker, the difference between his well-developed pectoralis major muscles and his excessive breast tissue was discussed. Dr. Parker explained he would remove the excess breast tissue to create less fullness in his breasts. The patient liked what he heard and proceeded with surgery. At surgery, which was performed under local anesthesia, Dr. Parker removed the thickened fibroglandular tissue from both breasts through hemi-areolar incisions, then performed peripheral liposuction of the surrounding tissues for blending. The patient was very happy with the relative ease of his pain-free recovery and loves the improved appearance of his chest.
