Rhinoplasty Before & After Case 1610

This 23 year old, referred to Dr. Parker by another patient, requested improvement in the appearance of her nose. She was bothered by her dorsal hump and nasal tip which drooped with smiling. She also complained about decreased breathing on both sides of her nose as well. Dr. Parker performed an open rhinoplasty during which he performed the following: a component bony-cartilaginous hump reduction, lateral osteotomies to close the “open roof”, tiplasty to refine and lift her bulbous tip, and resection of the depressor nasi septi muscles to prevent the tip from drooping with smiling. In addition, to improve the patient’s breathing, he performed a septoplasty, bilateral septoturbinotomies, created spreader flaps to help open her internal nasal valves and inserted alar contour grafts along her alar rims to strengthen her external valves. The patient was very pleased with the ease of her recovery. She loves the markedly improved appearance of her nose and how natural it looks. She says her breathing is much improved as well.
