Neck Contouring Before & After Case 1591

This 30 year old, referred by another patient, requested improvement in the appearance of her nose--she would like the bump reduced, crooked nose straightened and nostrils made more even. She also requested improvement in the fullness in the submental area of her neck as well as well as creating better jawline definition. The patient is 5’9” tall and weighs 150 pounds—she says her weight is stable. At surgery, Dr. Parker performed an open rhinoplasty during which he used a Piezotome to reduce the patient’s bony cartilaginous hump and to perform infractures narrowing the nasal bones as well as refined the size and shape of her bulbous nasal tip. Next, Dr. Parker contoured the patient’s neck. Using only a short, well-concealed submental incision in the natural chin crease for access, he removed the excess fat from beneath the platysma muscles. He then sutured these muscles back together (called a "medial platysmaplasty"). Liposuction was next performed from a tiny access incision behind each ear to help contour the jawline and lateral neck. The patient was pleased with speed and the relative ease of her recovery. She is very happy with the markedly improved contour of her nose and neck.
