Neck Contouring Before & After Case 1581

This 23 year old, as she planned her wedding, requested improvement in the contour of her neck which has always been fuller than desired. The patient had gained weight to 197 pounds, then lost weight and is maintaining in the range of 175-80 pounds. She is six feet tall. The patient had 2 sessions of Coolsculpting elsewhere which did nothing to improve her neck. During the patient's consultation with Dr. Parker, explained her long standing fullness in her neck suggested deep-seated fat beneath her medial  platysma muscles. He carefully described a Minimal-Incision Neck Contouring procedure which could be performed under local anesthesia. The patient liked what she heard and opted to undergo the procedure. At surgery, several weeks later, Dr. Parker used a short, well-concealed submental incision in the natural chin crease to remove the excess fat from beneath the paired platysma muscles. He then sutured them back together (called a "medial platysmaplasty").  Finally, he performed liposuction of the lateral neck on both sides using tiny access incisions hidden in the crease behind her ears. The patient was comfortable throughout the procedure. She was very happy with the ease of her recovery and loves the markedly improved contour of her neck. She reported to Dr. Parker during a postop visit, that while trying on her wedding dress in front of a mirror, she began to cry. He mother said, “yes honey, the dress is beautiful”. The patient responded, “I love the dress, but I am really crying because I love my beautiful new neck which I have never had.”
