Eyelid Lift Before & After Case 1565

This 61 year old, referred to Dr. Parker by another patient, requested improvement in the puffiness of her lower eyelids. During her consultation, the option of upper eyelids was discussed, but the patient did not want to pursue that at this time. Dr.Parker explained that the puffiness of her lower eyelids was due to fat herniating from the eye socket and pressing against the skin. He explained how a lower eyelid blepharoplasty could help this. The patient understood what he said and asked him to perform that procedure. At surgery, Dr. Parker made an incision on the inside of the lower eyelid and removed the excess fatty tissue—this is called a transconjunctival blepharoplasty. He then excised the excess skin from the patient’s lower eyelids and carefully closed the incision so that the resultant scar is not noticeable at all. The patient recovered quickly and loves the more youthful appearance of her lower eyelids.
