Since she was a teenager, Shelby always wanted to have bigger breasts.  As an avid exerciser, she is very fit and always felt something was missing with her figure.  Never having had surgery, Shelby had only recently decided that a breast augmentation was something she should consider.

“I thought that only celebrities had breast augmentation, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve met more and more everyday people, my age that have had it done.  And they look great!  It’s not like you look at them and the first thing you think is boob job.  They look really natural.  That’s what I wanted,” explained Shelby.

Six weeks ago, 68-year old Christine, had upper and lower eyelid surgery and can’t believe how great her eyes look now.  Christine, who’s married and works full-time overcame her husband’s objections to surgery and both of them are thrilled with the results.

Christine had had plastic surgery before, 21 years ago when she lived in Southern California.  Back then she had an extensive facelift, that included her eyes, neck, chin implant and a chemical peel.

“I only wanted to have my eyes done this time.  I had started to develop some droop in my upper eyes, but it was mostly the bagginess and the crepe skin on the lower lids that bothered me,” said Christine.

Referred to New Jersey plastic surgeon Dr. Paul Parker by his family physician, 19-year old Josh did not want to go back to college after last year.  Uncomfortable taking off his shirt because of his “man boobs”, Josh made the decision to investigate surgery in New Jersey.

Gynecomastia, or enlargement of the male breasts is not unusual.  It can affect one breast or both and is relatively common in adolescent boys and older men.  Years of teasing and embarrassment led Josh to seek help for his condition.  In high school, he would never go to pool parties and avoided going to the beach with his friends.

While considering a tummy tuck and a breast augmentation, Sandra a 46 year old mother of three, decided to get herself in shape.  She lost 25 pounds but was still feeling uncomfortable with her body, so Sandra decided to go ahead and have a tummy tuck.

New Jersey is home to many plastic surgeons, and Sandra saw three other doctors for consultations but chose The Parker Center for several reasons.  First, she was thrilled that the surgery could be done on the premises; she didn’t want to be in a hospital. I had the money and I felt that other life altering issues, like kids, would force me to put it off even longer,” she says. “I want to enjoy them now, not years from now.”

At 27 and two kids later, Suzanne decided it was time to do something about her small, unusually shaped breasts and overly large areolas. She also had no idea just how good they would look once Dr. Parker was finished with her!

Tuberous breasts derive their name from the tuber, an elongated shaped potato. They have also are called tubular breasts because of their unusual tube-like projection from the chest instead of a rounded projection. In addition to the unusual shape of tuberous breasts, the areolas are quite large and puffy. In Suzanne’s case, the most bothersome part was how far apart they sat on her chest.

At 31, Gianny decided it was time to do something about her large sagging breasts. She made appointments with several plastic surgeons in NJ and was all set for her three consultations. But, in an unexpected twist of fate, Darlene walked in to the dentist office where Gianny works and shared her very recent experience at The Parker Center.
In fact, Darlene had a breast augmentation just the day before. “You would never know she had just had surgery,” said Gianny. “And she couldn’t say enough about how great Dr. Parker was, how great she felt and how wonderful the experience was. She really sold him to me.”
Darlene’s story was so compelling, Gianny called The Parker Center the very next day. “Just from the phone call, I knew this was the place for me,” she says. “Along with Darlene’s story and the feeling I got from the phone conversation, I went ahead and canceled the three other consultations I had.”
Because Gianny works in a doctor’s office, she understands the power of referrals and that is what she prefers when looking for medical care. “I’d rather go by referrals because there is no better measure of a doctor than what others think and their experiences.”
The consultation confirmed that New Jersey plastic surgeon, Dr. Parker, was the right surgeon for her. “He was very professional and caring,” she says. “And, he makes you feel comfortable in what is a very uncomfortable situation for many.”
While they discussed her New Jersey breast lift, he recommended that she would need a reduction to get the results she wanted. When Gianny mentioned the fat under her chin and possible liposuction to correct it, he told her to give it time and that it should go away with diet and exercise.
“He was very honest about what I did and did not need and I appreciated that,” she says. “Another surgeon might have just gone ahead and done the liposuction too.”
While there were some differences in their experiences because they had different procedures, Gianny’s New Jersey breast lift and reduction met and exceeded her expectations. “I knew it was going to look good, but not this good!”
And she is passing her story along to others as well. Her mom will be visiting Dr. Parker in the future to have some work done as well.
“Dr. Parker is awesome,” she says. “The whole experience was wonderful!”
Oh, and Gianny ran into Darlene a few weeks after her procedure and Darlene is still singing Dr. Parker’s praises. There is really nothing better than a referral!

Recently, the NY Times published an article by Laura Holson titled, “A Little Too Ready for Her Close-Up,” which spurned a media conversation about Hollywood’s sudden about face when it comes to plastic surgery. Casting directors have been sending away actors who have obviously had plastic surgery.

“Frankly, I’m surprised by this conversation,” says Dr. Parker. “I would have thought something like this would have occurred years ago.” It looks like Hollywood is finally catching on to what the Parker Center knew along. For years, the two main goals here have been natural-looking results and a speedy and painless recovery. Dr. Parker calls this “plastic surgery common sense.”

New Jersey plastic surgery procedures when she came to see us in May 2009 for a liposuction consultation. She had lipo of the abdomen 15 years ago with a different surgeon which explains some of her apprehension before her first procedure at The Parker Center.

“I was in agony after my first liposuction of the abdomen,” she says. “And I think I had one post-op follow-up and never saw my surgeon again.”

When asked how her experience 15 years ago compared with her experience with Dr. Parker, she says, “It was completely different. I never even filled my pain medication prescription.”
