Ever since high school I wanted bigger breasts and knew I would someday have breast augmentation. But “someday” seemed never to arrive. Other priorities kept coming up. Friends and family wanted me to wait. “Finish school.” “Save your money.” “Wait ‘til you have children.” Finally I was done with excuses. I’m 26 now and my husband encouraged me to do what I needed to so I could feel comfortable in my own skin.

As a professional figure competitor, personal trainer and group fitness instructor, I have a heightened awareness of my body. My breasts were always small and not very symmetrical, so breast augmentation seemed the right thing to do if I wanted a better size and shape. I did a lot of online research and talked with friends. The first doctor I saw fell short of my expectations. But from the moment I walked into The Parker Center, I knew it was the right choice. My experience with everyone on the staff before, during and after my procedure exceeded my expectations. As someone who has never had any elective surgery before, I was pretty nervous, but I was immediately made to feel comfortable. My appointment happened to be late—around 6pm—so I figured everyone would be anxious to get home. The exact opposite happened. Dr. Parker acted like I was his only patient. He didn’t rush me, or rattle off a bunch of medical jargon. He answered all my questions and put me at ease. Liz did a great job during the sizing session. It was very important that I look proportionate yet natural in my figure costume. The pictures she took really helped me make up my mind on increasing my A cup to a B. I even came back a second time and Liz was patient and accommodating. Before my surgery Kathleen did my pre-op review. I left feeling very prepared. Charlene really calmed my nerves the day of surgery. She spent lots of time with my fiancé so he would know how to care for me. I remember hearing her call him after surgery just to give him an update on my condition.

For Sarah in New Jersey, breast augmentation is a procedure she has dreamed of for years.  After the birth of her second child, she and her husband decided their family was complete and would have no more children.  Now it was time for to invest in herself.

Sarah’s problem is not a lack of income … Sarah and her husband have been saving for the surgery, but she is ready now for her breast augmentation.  She does not want to wait to save up for the entire surgery cost.

“I wasted three years waiting because of what one doctor said. I should have explored more.

Before having my children I was an A cup size, and although I went to a B after my kids were born, the shape of my breasts changed. They were flat on top, round on the bottom, and slack. One of my friends with a similar figure had a breast augmentation and looked great. The doctor I consulted with told me I needed a breast lift which surprised me because I didn’t think the amount of droop I had warranted all of that reconstruction. I went home really discouraged and decided to forget about it. But that is easier said than done. I am working toward receiving my credentials as a personal trainer, so I am very in tune with my body. Honestly, my breasts were never the source of my confidence one way or the other, but it bothered me that improving them was no longer a possibility.
