Lipoabdominoplasty Patient 16
This 29 year old, whom Dr. Parker had operated several years ago for rhinoplasty, presented with several concerns. She had undergone the insertion of saline breast implants several years ago with another plastic surgeon. She feels they are too large, too heavy and sag. Additionally, she is bothered by the fullness of her lower abdomen and irregular c-section scar. Finally, she is concerned about the fullness in her outer thighs, knees and desires more fullness in her buttocks. The patient is 5′1″ and weighs 129 pounds. At surgery, Dr. Parker removed the patient’s 400cc saline implants, replacing these with 325cc implants . In addition, Dr. Parker performed a vertical mastopexy to lift the patient’s breasts higher on her chest. Additionally, Dr. Parker performed a lipoabdominoplasty along with liposuction of the lateral thighs (350cc fat removed from each side) and knees (75cc of fat removed from each side). He also injected 300cc of fat into each buttock to lift them and create more fullness. The patient recovered somewhat more slowly than most patients, with a little more pain (5-6 on a scale of 1-10). Following her recovery, the patient is now wearing a size 2 dress from a size 4 before surgery. She is delighted with her attractive figure.
Lipoabdominoplasty New Jersey
Lipoabdominoplasty is a relatively new procedure that combines aggressive liposuction of the abdomen with many of the principles of a Classic or Traditional Abdominoplasty. The Lipoabdominoplasty procedure begins with liposuction of the entire abdomen. The skin below the umbilicus is excised similar to a classic abdominoplasty, although lymphatic vessels are preserved to minimize postoperative swelling and promote a more rapid recovery from surgery. Next, limited undermining of the upper abdominal skin flap is performed, preserving many blood vessels and nerves to the abdominal wall. The rectus muscles are then plicated. Finally, the upper abdominal flap is advanced and closed with multiple layers of dissolvable sutures that minimize scar tension and postoperative scar spreading.
