Lipoabdominoplasty Patient 15
This 34 year old complained of her lower abdominal pouch and fullness in her hips after the birth of her children. The patient is 5′3″ tall and weighs 121 pounds. Dr. Parker performed a lipoabdominoplasty and VASER ultrasonic liposuction of her hips, removing 400cc of fat from each hip. The patient recovered quickly after her procedure. Initially, she loved the shorter scar and its location compared to one of her girlfriends who had a tummy tuck performed by another surgeon a few months earlier. Subsequently, as the swelling subsided, the patient and her husband were thrilled with the markedly improved contour of her abdomen and hips. She is able to work out more effectively in the gym because of her “tighter abs” and has recently lost 10 pounds. She wears snug-fitting clothing that she had been reluctant to wear before surgery. Her dress size has decreased from an 8 to a 2. Overall, she is much more self confident. She comments that her husband is probably even more excited than she is, if possible.
Lipoabdominoplasty New Jersey
Lipoabdominoplasty is a relatively new procedure that combines aggressive liposuction of the abdomen with many of the principles of a Classic or Traditional Abdominoplasty. The Lipoabdominoplasty procedure begins with liposuction of the entire abdomen. The skin below the umbilicus is excised similar to a classic abdominoplasty, although lymphatic vessels are preserved to minimize postoperative swelling and promote a more rapid recovery from surgery. Next, limited undermining of the upper abdominal skin flap is performed, preserving many blood vessels and nerves to the abdominal wall. The rectus muscles are then plicated. Finally, the upper abdominal flap is advanced and closed with multiple layers of dissolvable sutures that minimize scar tension and postoperative scar spreading.
