Aging and weight fluctuation may cause excess fat and/or sagging skin to occur in the upper arms. Liposuction will help most patients by removing fat and achieving mild skin tightening. One tiny incision is hidden in the armpit area and another by the elbow. Patients with severely drooping skin will need to have that skin surgically excised. This procedure is called a brachioplasty. The final incision runs on the posterior aspect of the upper arm from elbow to armpit. Though the scar will fade in the first year, it is permanent.
