Ears which over-protrude from the sides of the head can make children and adults self-conscious about their appearance. Surgical correction is achieved with an otoplasty, performed under either general anesthesia or intravenous sedation.

Ear Sculpting Surgery and Recovery
An inconspicuous incision is made behind the ear, permitting Dr. Parker to sculpt the ear cartilage into a more normal configuration. This allows the ear to brought back closer to the side of the head in a natural way correcting the problem. Surgery lasts roughly one and half hours and after briefly staying in our Recovery Room, the patient returns home. There is virtually no pain. All sutures dissolve. Patients can usually shower 3-4 days after the procedure and resume all normal activities within 7-10 days. Exercise can be started at 2 weeks.
